Viscoelastic Damping Materials are high-energy dissipative polymers used to effectively control resonance induced vibrations in vibrating structures or devices. Viscoelastic Damping Polymers are designed to have both "Viscous" and "Elastic" characteristics; "Viscous" to damp vibrational energy by converting it to negligible heat and "Elastic" to allow it to recover after each vibration cycle repetitively. Vibration amplitudes and structure-borne noise, subsequently can be reduced. In addition to reduced noise, product fatigue and performance are enhanced. Damping Design Formats, include

and Die Cutting. Although 1 to 5 mil Viscoelastic will
suffice in some applications, many applications require thicker materials,
some 0.500" thick and thicker. Gleicher has pioneered and
developed the manufacturing technology necessary to effectively produce
materials from 0.001" to 0.500" thick and thicker, giving
engineers the design flexibility they need for most applications.
